AT THE RTM

For more than 50 years, the RTM was the main regional transport company of the islands of South Holland and Sealand. Relive the memories of a journey from the past with the original RTM rolling stock, with the tram journey of today!

The RTM-Museum in Spring!

After a busy Easter Monday, the RTM Museum will be open in May on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:00.

Last year, the museum was expanded and renovated, with more space for the collection of historical vehicles, ranging from the RTM horse-drawn tram to the RTM bus, and a cross-section of what has appeared on the track in between.

On these days, two diesel trains will be running, at 13:30 and 15:30. The 13:30 tram connects to the tour boat on the Grevelingen on Wednesdays (the boat does NOT sail on Saturdays). You will be back at the museum at 16:30.

Experience the ‘great journey’ in the ‘Island Tram’ or the ‘Trammetje van Zuid’! Order your tickets here!

On Ascension Day, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May, the RTM organizes a three-day steam festival. For details: see EVENTS!

AT THE RTM

Between 1898 and 1966, the RTM provided passenger and freight transport between Rotterdam and the islands with its trams, buses and ferries. From 1966, the RTM continues as a unique transport museum, established since 1989 at the foot of the Brouwersdam.

Take a trip with a restored RTM tram from those earlier years through the dunes of ‘De Punt’ van Goeree, over the Brouwersdam to Scharendijke, stop West-Repart.

Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash!

We would also like to welcome you for a delicious cup of coffee in our cafe, made with love by our wonderful volunteers. When will we see you?
